The aftermath of baseball games brought a frightening pile of small water bottles, cups, and snack debris left behind by young athletes for coaches to clean up. The coaches decided there must be a better way. The idea for ThirstMax was born back in the late ’90s and was originally designed for a Little League baseball team based in West Los Angeles, CA.
An early prototype design helped this team endure the harsh weather of Southern California during a major heat wave that summer. This design featured a fishnet type holder, fashioned from a ball bag for soccer, fitted with a camping water bag with spigot, and hung on a chain-link fence in the dugout. The concept sat dormant for a period of time, but kept resurfacing as new seasons unfolded, camping trips came and went, and picnics were enjoyed. Minor changes and enhancements took place on this early prototype and spawned the development for a self-contained hydration system.
Over the years, requirements for ThirstMax were made apparent:
- It must be economical to purchase and use.
- It must utilize common grocery stores items (water, coolers, cups, trash bags), found everywhere.
- It must be easy to use.
- It must be stored easily in a vehicle or equipment bag, and occupy a very small footprint when not in use.
- It must be environmentally friendly.
The evolution of ThirstMax from the dugout to camp site, picnics, and more, came with the development of the ThirstMax Utility Strap. The Utility Strap allows the ThirstMax Caddy to be hung from a tree, post or pole when installed. Now, anywhere you need water or other hydration products, you are in command with the ThirstMax Caddy and its accessories!
This leaves us at the present moment: ThirstMax is the original, portable hydration system, designed for active lifestyles where convenience and portability are essential.
